A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
My journey with superfood berries began in 2012 as South Africa’s largest cape gooseberry farmer, supplying fresh berries to leading retailers. I became fascinated by the “ugly” berries that still held all the nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants of their perfect-looking siblings. That curiosity sparked my passion for creating natural wellness products from berries - and led to the business we have today.
I’m a purist. Our products contain no powders, additives or preservatives - just pure cold-pressed juices. Every ingredient is inspected by hand so only the highest quality fruit makes it into the bottle. Each blend is crafted to deliver the full natural nutrition and health benefits of its ingredients, while offering a rich, complex flavour.
I’ve used these products on my own wellness journey, losing 63 kg over 15 months and reversing Type 2 diabetes, chronic inflammation and high blood pressure. Today I’m fit, healthy and cycle 1 000 km a month on my mountain bike.
I believe in getting essential nutrients from real food, not supplements. My passion is simple: making great-tasting products packed with pure, natural nutrition.

The Raw Berry Press is an artisanal-scale producer of cold-pressed, pure berry juices, novel berry blends, and frozen and dried berry-based products. Everything we make comes out of our small, labour-intensive juicery in the village of Riebeek Kasteel, in the Western Cape. We're small by choice - it lets us create local employment and keep quality tight - but we hold ourselves to state-of-the-art standards. Our facility is FSSC22000 certified, the highest food safety certification in the world, so every artisanal product you drink has also met the strictest safety standards there are.

WHY WE BELIEVE IN THE BERRY
We treat berries as the true superfood fruit – packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and essential fatty acids to provide natural nutrition that your body needs to stay healthy. Most juice producers build their blends on deflavoured and cheap apple/pear/grape juice, bulked out with concentrates and additives. We don’t. We’re the only juicery in the world that uses a 100% pure berry juice as our base, using only nutrient-dense superfoods to complement the goodness of the berry. Wellness, together with intense, complex flavours for you to slowly sip and savour as part of your daily health routine.

No heat touches our juice. Every bottle is cold-pressed and cold-pasteurised, so nutrients stay intact.

We source from farmers around Riebeek Kasteel and run this business ourselves - small scale, by design.
A PROCESS DESIGNED TO PRESERVE NATURE
All our juices are cold-pressed and bottled below 10°C, so none of the vitamins or antioxidants are lost to heat. From there, each bottle goes through a cold high-pressure pasteurisation process - this clears out harmful microorganisms while keeping every nutrient intact. The result is a cold-pressed, cold-pasteurised juice with a five-month fridge life. On special request, we can also produce unpasteurised juice - this needs to stay frozen and be used within three days of defrosting.
